DESCRIPTION:Fulbright-Hays funds graduate students for 6-12 months research in countries outside Western Europe.  Students must work extensively in modern languages under the broad umbrella “Area Studies”. The short lead-time confers a distinct advantage on students who react quickly.  To assist NU applicants\, the Office of Fellowships offers the following application workshops.  Attend the earliest workshop possible. Eligibility requirements** Is a citizen\, national\, or a permanent resident of the United States;** Is a graduate student in good standing at an institution of higher education in the United States who\, when the fellowship begins\, is admitted to candidacy in a doctoral program in modern foreign languages and area studies at that institution;** Possesses adequate skills in the language(s) necessary to carry out the dissertation project.
