"From Living Abroad to Policy to Academia: Reflections on Navigating a Career in International Affairs"
Katrin Katz is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at Northwestern University focusing on the international relations of East Asia. She previously served as the Director for Japan, Korea and Oceanic Affairs on the staff of the White House National Security Council from 2007 until 2008. She has also held positions at the U.S. State Department and as an intelligence analyst. Katz, who has spent time living in Japan and Korea, received a master's degree in East Asian and international security studies from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in International Relations and Japanese from the University of Pennsylvania.
