Ben. Sifuentes-Jauregui’s research interests include 20th Century Latin American and Laino/a literature and cultural studies, gender theory and sexuality studies, and psychoanalysis. He is author of The Avowal of Different: Queer Latino American Narratives (2014) and Transvestism, Masculinity, and Latin American Literature (2002). He is co-editor of the forthcoming Latin American keywords. He has also published articles on sexuality, queer identities in Latino/a America and melodrama. His current project deals with the relationship between melodrama and masochism in a series of Latino American novels, performances, films, and essays, as well as another project on the intersection between Latino literature and psychoanalysis.
