Description:

This fall, to mark the 50th anniversary of the 30th of September Movement and tragedy in Indonesia, EDGS will hold a series of events.

On October 22nd, EDGS will screen The Act of Killing: Joshua Oppenheimer's award-winning documentary from the perspective of the people who perpetrated the 1965-66 genocide in Indonesia. A Q+A session with Prof. Jeffrey Winters will be held after the film. https://www.facebook.com/events/884130471640824/

On October 24th, EDGS will host a day-long symposium entitled, "The Indonesian Massacres of 1965-6: Legacies and Living Memories Fifty Years On." http://www.edgs.northwestern.edu/oct2015symposium/

On November 9th, EDGS will present the EDGS Rajawali Distinguished Lecture given by award-winning director Joshua Oppenheimer and screen his newest documentary, The Look of Silence.  This film continues where The Act of Killing left off, focusing on the relatives of the massacre victims confronting the perpetrators. https://www.facebook.com/events/1705694042983387/
