This fall, to mark the 50th anniversary of the 30th of September Movement and tragedy in Indonesia, EDGS will hold a series of events.
On October 22nd, EDGS will screen The Act of Killing: Joshua Oppenheimer's award-winning documentary from the perspective of the people who perpetrated the 1965-66 genocide in Indonesia. On October 24th, EDGS will host a day-long symposium entitled, "The Indonesian Massacres of 1965-6: Legacies and Living Memories Fifty Years On." http://www.edgs.northwestern.edu/oct2015symposium/
On November 9th, EDGS will present the EDGS Rajawali Distinguished Lecture given by award-winning director Joshua Oppenheimer and screen his newest documentary, The Look of Silence.
