Beth Linn is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science. From 2009-2011 she was a Youth Development Volunteer with the United States Peace Corps in the Republic of Azerbaijan. During this time, she worked on projects related to human rights and conflict resolution, youth professionalization, health and wellness, women’s empowerment and education access.
Her talk will provide a basic overview of Peace Corps service and discuss the various ways in which this experience enhances the practice, understanding and engagement of international studies. Students interested in pursuing the Peace Corps, as well as other international volunteer and service opportunities, are especially invited to attend.
All students welcome. Dinner provided.
