Workshop Description:
Having trouble breaking down the barrier between you and your students? Fear not! Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) are here to help! CATs allow for quick feedback to gauge the effectiveness of your teaching and student learning. In this workshop, we will provide you with the tools to design effective CATs for your teaching situation and extract useful information from the CATs about student learning.
Workshop Facilitators:
Alyssa Haynes is a fifth-year chemistry graduate student whose research focuses on discovering new crystal structures and understanding how subtle differences in the structure enhances or hinders specific properties of the crystals.Alyssa is a Graduate Teaching Mentor at the Searle Center.
Ashley Paz y Puente is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in Materials Science and Engineering specializing in metallurgy. Ashley is a Graduate Teaching Fellow at the Searle Center.
