Title: Atomic Transitions: Making the leap from postdoc to publishing.
Speaker: Jennifer Robinson, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences
Abstract: Graduate advisors are excellent mentors for students who want to pursue a traditional academic track from postdoc to professorship, but what about those of us who want to go a different route? Jenn Robinson will share her experiences moving from postdoc positions in atomic physics and quantum information to a job as a Recruiting Editor at the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. She’ll talk about how she got where she is today, what helped, and what she wished she’d known while going through the job search.
