Papa Sow - En route to/from Hell: Dreams of Adventure and Traumatic Experiences Among West Africa "Boat People" to "Europe"
Since the legal path for migration from Africa to Europe is full of obstacles, in particular the visa market, which is lucrative for European consulates but frustrating and humiliating for the potential migrants, the irregular path becomes even more attractive.
Co-sponsored by the Buffett Institute for Global Studies
Dr. Papa Sow is Spanish, born Senegalese (West Africa), MA from the University Gaston Berger of Saint-Louis (Senegal), PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). He undertook post-Doctoral studies in the former Center for Ethnic Relations, University of Warwick (UK).
