Description:

The Department of Spanish & Portuguese invites you to their Fall Faculty Colloquium with a presentation by visiting assistant professor, Casey Drosehn.
Lunch will be served.

The paper considers the problem of the avant-garde public in the case of the Valparaíso group Rosa Náutica. Zsigmond Remenyik's 1929 novel Los juicios del Dios Agrella is read as a testament to the ways in which this Chilean avant-garde established a reciprocal relationship between its marginal public and its cosmopolitan worldview.
