Description:

Microbiology-Immunology Seminar Series

How do you attack a viral infection? Virus capsid assembly is a reaction unique to viruses. By understanding how capsid assembly works for Hepatitis B Virus, we have gained insight how to interfere with this complex reaction. We have found small molecules that allosterically activate assembly and lead to misassembly. We have characterized the physical chemistry and structural biology of these molecules.
