We have recently created a unique task force at Northwestern to target the problem of estimating caloric intake passively by combining both behavioral sensing and analyte/chemical sensing technology on body. Being able to detect caloric intake and/or proxies to caloric intake passively and reliably will greatly advance research in nutrition, exercise physiology, behavior medicine, and obesity. Our goal is to develop unique teams that will tackle key areas in the advancement of this research.

NSF has funded us to hold a workshop and prepare a white paper that addresses existing capability, and create teams to target both NSF and NIH-based grants to advance scientific innovation and impact on society.

Invitation Only.
