Joseph Murphy, saxophone; Matthew Slotkin, guitar
Joseph Murphy is the saxophone professor at Pennsylvania’s Mansfield University and a Selmer clinician who has recorded on the Erol, Opus One, and Mark Records labels. Matthew Slotkin is director of the guitar program at Pennsylvania’s Bloomsburg University and has recorded on the Summit, Centaur, and Liscio labels. Since 2002 they have performed over 300 concerts on six continents as Duo Montagnard. Their festival appearances have included Chautauqua, the Scandinavian Saxophone Festival, and the Radford University International Guitar Festival. The duo has commissioned, premiered, and recorded music by James Crowley, Jonathan Elliott, Laura Kramer, John Anthony Lennon, John Orfe, and Russell Peterson.
