Description:

More than 60 countries across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Billions of investment dollars. Thousands of miles of rail, roads, and pipelines. China’s grand “One Belt, One Road” infrastructure and development project is set to transform the Eurasian continent and beyond—perhaps in China’s image of itself as an increasingly assertive global power. The project’s recent inclusion in the Communist Party’s constitution all but ensures that it is going to become a centerpiece of China’s global strategy in the coming years. How does China plan to kick the initiative into high gear in the near term? What will it take to nurture a Eurasian powerhouse that will rival the Euro-Atlantic region in economic strength and influence?
