The Department of Microbiology-Immunology Seminar Series
"Gammaherpesvirus Versus Host: Chewing Through Cholesterol and Lipid Synthesis"
Vera Tarakanova, PhD / Medical College of Wisconsin
Description
All viruses, including gammaherpesviruses, depend on the host metabolic pathways to facilitate viral replication and chronic infection. These pathways are, in turn, manipulated by the innate and intrinsic immune networks of the host to limit viral replication. This seminar will focus on this virus-host standoff in the context of lipid metabolism.
