The Global Café is excited to host Fatema Zohara, a Ph.D. student with the Department of Sociology at Loyola University Chicago!
Fatema also holds a Master of Arts from DePaul University in Sociology. Fatema cultivated her passion for studying Sociology through teaching Sociology in China. Her research interests include: ethnicity, discrimination, religion, immigration, migration pattern and policy, as well as culture with an emphasis on how these social facts and processes inform South Asian individuals’ identity formation processes. Her current research examines how ethnic and religious origins shape the social identities of first, intermediate, and second generations of South Asians in the US and Canada.
Dinner will be provided.
