Description:

Join INVO to hear Jamie Hoberg, PhD (Head of Licensing and External Innovation, MilliporeSigma) share how lab reagents can be made available to the wider scientific community through the licensing process.

University labs often create new research reagents like antibodies, cell lines, or imaging reagents, which may be useful and desirable to other researchers. A lab may simply share such reagents using a Material Transfer Agreement with other institutions. However, to more widely distribute these reagents, they may also be made available through a licensing process. This is true for patented lab reagents as well as those that are not patentable. Either way, reagents can be licensed successfully. In fact, many reagents found in commercial catalogues originate from university research labs. Dr. Hoberg will present on this process and share success stories of popular reagents.

Lunch will be served. Register in advance (check back for registration link). Seating will be limited.
