Strengthening Moral Agency
Dr. Wocial is the nurse ethicist and is part of the faculty for the clinical ethics fellowship at the Fairbanks Center for Medical Ethics (FCME) at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis, Indiana. She leads the Unit Based Ethics Conversation (UBEC) program and is an active member of the ethics consultation service. Dr. Wocial created the Moral Distress Thermometer, an instrument that is used to measure moral distress of clinical care providers. Her current research focuses on interventions to reduce moral distress and increase moral agency of professional caregivers.
