In this University Teaching Roundtable, Vasili Byros and Francesca Tataranni will lead discussion of their experience introducing new courses in the curriculum to help students construct their own autodidactic identity and develop a stronger sense of ownership of their learning. To achieve this goal, they adopted a progressive design of assignments that, combined with a customized assessment strategy, motivates students to enhance the quality and creativity of their work. They will share with the audience the motivations behind their pedagogical choices, their theoretical and methodological perspectives, as well as the practical challenges and benefits of this approach.
