This talk will focus on the clinical considerations for the successful creation and implementation of smartphone apps. Focusing on current challenges facing both patients and clinicians, topics explored will include safety, evidence, usability, and interoperbaility. Framing these challenges within the evolving regulatory landscape, the talk will explore the potential of new care delivery models and digital clinics to fully realize the potential of digital mental health. Finally, this talk will review the current and future steps for passive data sensing in mental health and explore how such data may soon support innovative delivery of services.
