Description:

The City of Evanston recently committed to 100% renewable electricity by 2030, carbon neutrality and zero waste by 2050. Can they do it?

Join us for a lively discussion about Evanston’s new Climate Action and Resilience Plan, led by Chris Kucharzyk, a member of the working group that researched and designed this ambitious proposal. Chris will share about the plan’s goals, his work on greenhouse gas reduction potential, and what it’s like as a recent Ph.D. graduate making a big impact through municipal activism. Evanston is a national leader in climate action and planning, so this is a great place and opportunity to learn. Bring your questions and opinions, and we’ll bring the pizza! (if you RSVP)

Chris works as a Data Scientist at IDEO. He recently received his Ph.D. in Materials Science from Caltech, during which time he also worked at Northwestern as a Visiting Scholar.
