Please join the Film and Philosophy Society for our second screening of the Winter Quarter: the 2001 film Conspiracy, starring Kenneth Branagh! Conspiracy depicts the planning of the Holocaust at the Wannssee Conference, a committee meeting which lasted less than 2 hours. The movie is a reenactment based on the only surviving transcript of the meeting, and it is chilling in its efficiency. Starring Kenneth Branagh as Reinhardt Heydrich and Stanley Tucci as Adolf Eichmann, Conspiracy raises questions about the nature of totalitarianism, racism, and Hannah Arendt's concept of the "banality of evil."
Please join fellow members of the Philosophy Department for a night of film and philosophy!
