The Comparative Historical Social Sciences Working Group at Northwestern University invites scholars from the Midwest area and beyond to the second edition of our interdisciplinary conference on comparative and historical social science scholarship. We aim to bring together faculty, postdocs, and graduate students for fruitful interaction and debate on theoretical, empirical, and methodological questions.
The II Annual Chicago Area Comparative Historical Social Sciences Conference will take place on May, 17th, 2019 at Northwestern University. Participants from around the country will present their papers and a reception will take place at the end of the event. We are pleased to announce that the keynote speaker this year will be Professor Miguel Angel Centeno (Princeton University).
We encourage people at different stages in their research to participate. This is a unique opportunity to receive feedback from internationally renowned scholars on the field and peers, attend panels dedicate to new research on comparative and historical social science, and engage with the community on the field.
