Title: Regulation of T Cell Functions in Inflammation and Antitumor Immunity
Speaker: Shao-Cong Sun, PhD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center
Host: Laimonis Laimins, PhD, Chair, The Immunology Faculty Search Committee
Topic:
T cells play a central role in immune responses against infections and cancer development and, when deregulated, also contribute to the pathogenesis of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. My laboratory studies the molecular mechanisms regulating T cell responses using animal models of autoimmunity and antitumor immunity. I will present our recent work in this area, focusing on cancer immunity, and discuss the relevance of the findings to human cancer immunotherapy.
