This month’s group will focus on wellness and quality of life issues for men with prostate cancer. We will be joined by Dr. Alicia Morgans, Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology. Dr. Morgans conducts research on quality of life in prostate cancer patients to help patients and providers make decisions about prostate cancer treatment.
The group will also feature a guided relaxation session led by Sheri Minnick, MD, E-RYT. Sherri manages wellness programs at Northwestern Medicine and provides specialty classes to meet the needs of individuals in and out of cancer treatment. Sherri will also offer strategies to ease the stress and anxiety associated with a new diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
The Prostate Cancer Support Group offers opportunities to share personal support and connect with others affected by prostate cancer and learn about treatment options and the potential impact of side effects on a man and his spouse or partner, and his overall quality of life. Facilitated by the Us TOO Prostate Cancer Education & Support Network, these interactive groups facilitate conversations to exchange information among group members assembled with the common goal of empowering each other with the knowledge that comes from experience.
We welcome all people affected by prostate cancer, including patients, caregivers, spouses and partners. You don't have to receive care at Northwestern Medicine to attend.
