The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is partnering with CIRTL at Northwestern to bring back the “Mentoring Up & Down” workshop series— a three-part workshop series on managing your mentoring relationships both “up” as a mentee and “down” as a mentor!

The core of the training will consist of small group discussions where participants analyze case studies that highlight the skills critical to effective mentoring. This process-based learning, grounded in research and workshops developed at the University of Wisconsin, allows participants to develop individualized mentoring styles and philosophies through ongoing practice.

The first session will form the foundation of the training and focus on establishing and maintaining effective communication and aligning expectations.
