The Orthopedic Surgery Society will be hosting dinner talk on the field of orthopaedic surgery and a first-hand account from Dr. Samer Attar on how surgeons can help in times of war/crisis.
Dr. Samar Attar is a practicing orthopaedic surgeon at Northwestern. In 2016, he was named "Chicagoan of the Year" by Chicago Magazine and honored as the "2016 Global Citizenship Hero" by the American Red cross for his dedicated work in Syria. Dr. Attar provides a unique perspective to volunteering abroad during a humanitarian crisis and his stories are truly moving.
