A randomized placebo controlled trial to delay prostate cancer progression in Black men on active surveillance
Objectives
- To show that finasteride + vitamin D3 delay prostate cancer progression relative to vitamin D3 and finasteride alone
- To uncover the metabolic pathways that are being altered in men on vitamin D3, finasteride and vitamin D3 + finasteride
- To determine if the use of secondary chemoprevention increases likelihood to remain on active surveillance for an additional year
