ABOUT MSES:

Urgent and unprecedented changes are needed in the next decade to combat some of the most pressing impacts of climate change. Northwestern’s multidisciplinary, one-year Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability (MSES) prepares its students to navigate the complex intersection of technology, economics, and regulation underpinning the associated growth opportunities in the energy and sustainability sectors.

Offered by the Institute for Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern (ISEN), the full-time, cohort-based, one-year program combines academic rigor, with real-world experience, giving students access to a unique combination of faculty expertise and leading industry practitioners. MSES students undertake a truly interdisciplinary curriculum with a focus on technology, economics, and public policy, coupled with one of three specialization tracks. The program culminates in a practicum capstone project in which MSES students partner with an industry or not-for-profit client working at the cutting edge of sustainability and energy solutions.
