In keeping with best practices in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19, Alliance for Research in Chicagoland Communities (ARCC) at Northwestern University, will host our April 2020 Seed Grant 101/Community Office Hours virtually in partnership with Seed Grantee the Darren B. Easterling Center for Restorative Practices.

These Community Office Hours will also include an Info Session on ARCC 2020 Community-Engaged Research Partnership Development Seed Grants and opportunity to speak with ARCC staff about your application ideas. 

Lisa D Daniels, Executive Director & Founder of The Darren B. Easterling Center for Restorative Practices will share about the ARCC Seed Grant research collaboration she has with Northwestern. The project is focused on serving Women of Color who have experienced the loss of a loved one to gun violence or incarceration in the communities of Englewood, Back of the Yards, Gage Park and Auburn Gresham. The collaboration is collaboratively developing and evaluating a trauma-informed and culturally-responsive manualized treatment intervention model that results in healing and empowerment at the individual and community level.

ARCC holds Community Office Hours to:

♦ meet and greet new & current partners (community, faith-based and patient advocacy organizations, and public agencies),
♦ share ARCC resources/services for engaged community-academic research partnerships,
♦ answer questions about research, health equity, ARCC, and
♦ hear community requests/concerns
