Description:

Unconscious Bias: Awareness, Impact, and Strategies in Higher Medical Education Recruitment

The academic medicine community is rich with examples of how diversity is critical to the health of our nation.  Unconscious bias can directly impact our ability to create and support a diverse and inclusive healthcare workforce.   Unconscious/implicit bias refers to the attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner.  This training session will explore unconscious bias, with a special focus on its impact on admissions and recruitment in undergraduate and graduate medical education.
