Brian is honored for a series in The New York Times about a scheme to drive up the price of taxi medallions and how it harmed New York taxi drivers. Brian’s investigation found drivers shackled with such horrific debt that several died by suicide. The story prompted the city to consider a $500 million bailout for drivers.
