This month’s group will feature a presentation and question and answer session on prostate cancer genetics and genomics. The session will be led by Dr. Ashley Ross, Associate Professor of Urology at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Ross is a surgeon scientist who specializes in urology and urologic oncology and is a nationally recognized expert in prostate cancer. His research efforts focus on the development, testing and implementation of novel diagnostics and therapeutics with a goal of reducing the suffering from prostate cancer.  Clinically, Dr. Ross performs prostate cancer screening, prostate biopsy (including MRI-fusion biopsy), active surveillance, robotic prostatectomy, open radical prostatectomy, and ablative therapies of the prostate.

The Prostate Cancer Support Group offers opportunities to share personal support and connect with others affected by prostate cancer and learn about treatment options and the potential impact of side effects on a man and his spouse or partner, and his overall quality of life. Facilitated by the Us TOO Prostate Cancer Education & Support Network, these interactive groups facilitate conversations to exchange information among group members assembled with the common goal of empowering each other with the knowledge that comes from experience.

We welcome all people affected by prostate cancer, including patients, caregivers, spouses and partners. You don't have to receive care at Northwestern Medicine to attend.
