Abstract: The use of PROMS to allow the patients' voice to be heard when assessing quality and outcomes offers a potent tool in healthcare improvement. We have developed standard sets of measures to assess outcomes that matter to patients covering more than 50% of the disease burden. Recently we harmonised the terminology across all diagnoses in order to allow efficient assessment of outcomes also in patients with multiple diagnoses (ICHOM.org). We are in the process of an international roll-out and provide a mechanism for international benchmarking of provider results based on these measurement schedules.
