The American Studies major:

• Draws on a range of faculty from the humanities and social sciences

• Incorporates an individualized program that is interdisciplinary, comparative, and internationally-oriented

• Features small seminar classes to provide a close working relationship with faculty and fellow students

• Trains you to develop skills of analysis and expression

• Allows you to shape your own course of study and senior research project

More information about the major is here:
https://amstp.northwestern.edu/undergraduate/index.html

NOTE: The major is open for application to first- and second-year students. Application deadline is March 30, 2021.

American Studies students are in a unique position to apply their comparative and transnational training—along with the creative thinking and flexibility developed from navigating between disciplines—to help better understand the role of the U.S. and its peoples, historically and today.
