The Evanston Municipal Elections are here! Evanston's elected officials work on many important local issues, including the city’s COVID-19 response, housing and the cost of living, city infrastructure, policing, sustainability, and issues of equity.
The Primary Election is Tuesday, February 23! Mayor, City Clerk, and Aldermen in Wards 4 & 8 will be on the ballot. For the Mayoral primary, if one candidate wins more than 50% of the vote, the primary result is final – so this might be your chance to elect Evanston’s next Mayor!
Students have the right to register and vote at either a permanent address or a campus address. And it's not too late! You can still register and vote at the Evanston Civic Center during early voting, or on Election Day at your local polling place from 6am–7pm.
Check out NU Votes’ 2021 Evanston Municipal Elections Education Guide to learn more about the upcoming local elections, what's on the ballot, and how you can register, vote, and make informed choices.
