Description:

A year after our lives were turned upside down by the pandemic, we can say with confidence that it has been a historic, in many ways terrible year. Our daily routines have been disrupted, our ability to maintain and build community at Northwestern has suffered. All of this played out in the context of a spreading virus that has killed millions globally and hundreds of thousands in the United States, including a disproportionate number of Latinos; continued police violence against Black people and other racialized groups; a bitter presidential election that weakened our democracy; an attack on the U.S. Congress, with the support of white supremacist groups. And for most of us, it’s not like our lives were perfect before all this happened. It has been unsettling, and we’d like to gather to informally discuss anything on your mind about the current state of affairs.
