Please join MSA in this interactive poetry workshop hosted by féi hernandez (they/them), a trans, Inglewood-raised, immigrant artist, writer, healer, and advocate from Chihuahua, Mexico. féi is an extensively published poet, a 2021 Define American Fellow, and is currently the Board President of Gender Justice in Los Angeles. féi is the author of the full-length poetry collection Hood Criatura (Sundress Publications 2020) which was on NPR’s Best Books of 2020.
Participants will be introduced to the ways that poetry can serve as a liberatory and revolutionary praxis and more broadly how writing as a cultural expression also engages topics around family, identity, and immigration.
