Erica Weitzman is Associate Professor in the Department of German at Northwestern University. Her publications include Irony’s Antics: Walser, Kafka, Roth, and the German Comic Tradition (Northwestern University Press, 2015), Suspensionen. Über das Untote (co-edited with Carolin Blumenberg, Alexandra Heimes, and Sophie Witt, Fink, 2015), and, most recently, At the Limit of the Obscene: German Realism and the Disgrace of Matter (Northwestern University Press, 2021).

Arne Höcker is Associate Professor of German Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is the author of Epistemologie des Extremen. Lustmord in Kriminologie und Literatur um 1900 (Fink 2012) and The Case of Literature: Forensic Narratives from Goethe to Kafka (Cornell UP 2020). He is currently working on a new book with the preliminary title Paranoia and Authority: On the Persistence of Modernity.
