Gun violence in the United States is a multifaceted problem, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Even though men make up the majority of perpetrators, as well as victims of gun violence, womxn are also highly impacted as victims of community violence, racism, and police brutality. Womxn are the primary victims in situations of intimate partner violence and stalking. Hate-crime and mass shootings also often evolve from misogynistic and transphobic beliefs. Violence against womxn and gender minorities is referred to as “gender-based violence.”

In this conversation, our panel of experts who work in fields that advocate to reduce domestic violence, community violence, racism, transphobia, and police violence, will provide us with some key insights on how we can start tackling the complex issue of gun violence and the multiple social justice and gender-based issues with which it intersects.

Please stay tuned as we announce speakers closer to the event date!
