Join us for the Global Lunchbox, a weekly conversation convened by the Weinberg College Center for International and Area Studies at Northwestern University featuring conversations with scholars about their current research on a range of critical global issues.
Our guest this week will be Ian Kelly, Ambassador (ret.) in Residence with the International Studies Program at Northwestern University, where he also serves on the Steering Committee of the Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies (REEES) Research Program. A 33-year veteran of the U.S. Foreign Service, Kelly's last two overseas assignments were Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (2010-2013) and to Georgia (2015-2018). Other assignments include NATO, Rome, Ankara, Vienna, Belgrade, and Moscow. He has an MA from Northwestern and a PhD from Columbia in Russian Studies.
