Title: Aquatic Invasive Species Outreach by Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant at the Chicago Botanic Garden: Room for Collaboration?
This presentation will be a broad overview of aquatic invasive species outreach by the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant outreach team, which is housed at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Our focus is on the human dimensions of how to prevent new introductions of high risk aquatic species into the Great Lakes Basin as well as the Mississippi River Basin through Illinois and Indiana. Our work relies on multidisciplinary collaborations with biologists, social scientists, artists and communicators to engage a wide range of stakeholders. The intention of this presentation is to briefly provide some examples of our work, propose some current possible collaborations opportunities and create room for discussion for future collaborations with CBG staff or graduate students.
