Scott M. Kenworthy is Associate Professor in the Department of Comparative Religion at Miami University (Oxford OH), and an associate of the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies program. He is a specialist in the modern history and thought of Russian Orthodox Christianity. His first book, The Heart of Russia: Trinity-Sergius, Monasticism and Society after 1825 (Oxford University Press, 2010), won the Brewer Prize of the American Society of Church History. He is currently writing a monograph on Patriarch Tikhon Bellavin (1865-1925) and the Orthodox Church during the Bolshevik Revolution. His research has been supported by the NEH, IREX, the Kennan Institute, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study.
