For decades, our refusal culture taught us that "no means no." And then numerous college sexual assault cases surfaced. Affirmative consent became the new buzzwords. And then #MeToo happened. Stigma, power, and gendered expectations complicate consent. With the goal of helping people understand safety, fulfillment, and pleasure in relationships, health educator Justine Ang Fonte interrogates the barriers that compromise intimacy and flips the framework of refusal/consent to emphasize human interactions, sex-positivity, and confidence.

This public lecture is part of a week of events with educator-in-residence, Justine Ang Fonte.
