Dees is the Steven and Lisa Munster Tananbaum Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Block Museum of Art, and curator of Winter–Spring 2022 Block exhibition A Site of Struggle: American Art against Anti-Black Violence.

This gallery talk will be followed by a performance from artists Mendi + Keith Obadike at the neighboring Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts. Guests are welcome to join us for one or both programs; registration required.

This program is held in connection with 2022–23 One Book One Northwestern (OBON) selection How the Word Is Passed: A Reckoning with The History of Slavery Across America by Clint Smith and presented by the Block Museum in partnership with The Alumnae of Northwestern University.
