TItle: The Changing Landscape of Human B Cell Memory
Speaker: Shiv Pillai, PhD, MD, Professor of Medicine and Health Sciences, Harvard Medical School, Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard
Topic:
Human and murine adaptive immune memory is best understood in the CD8+ T cell context. However, B cell memory is extremely relevant to protection from infections as well as to include autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, many of which respond to B cell depletion. In this talk I will present recent work on two distinct human memory B cell populations. I will draw parallels with our current approach to classifying T cell memory and discuss the likely high relevance of extrafollicular B cell memory to human disease.
Host: Pablo Penaloza-MacMaster, PhD, Assistant Professor, Dept. Of Microbiology-Immunology
