Join us for the screening of the 2021 Italian animated short film titled S’Ammutadori. The screening will be followed by a discussion with its writer/director Francesca Floris and its animator Fabrizio Di Palma on their ideas of the goals of animation today. They will tell us why animation is a cross-generational medium that can help raise awareness of a variety of political topics today, including fighting for the rights of the LGBT+ community. They will also explain how their animation projects allow them to share and reflect on their home region of Sardinia, Italy, opening Sardinia’s rich cultural heritage to the world.
Short movie with English subtitles. The talk and Q&A will be in English. For questions contact Professor Delfino at m.delfino@northwestern.edu
