join the GUAB (German Undergraduate Advisory Board) for an excursion to the Christkindlmarket and the Goethe-Institut (150 Michigan Ave) in downtown Chicago on Thursday, December 1st! We will be visiting the Christkindlmarkt around 11am, with some free time to explore the market, followed by a group lunch at the market around 12, with 1 meal and 1 drink provided by the German Department. After this we will be visiting the Goethe-Institut from 1:30-2:30pm to enjoy a fun, informative, interactive cultural presentation.
Participants may come and go as they please, either to just the Market or Goethe or both, but we will plan for a GUAB group to travel together there and back again. We will plan to depart from the Foster Purple Line station together around 10am and to leave Chicago for campus around 2:45 by train. You will be responsible for purchasing your own train tickets.
If you are going to the Goethe-Institut: students should bring IDs, every visitor will be required to wear a face mask for the entire duration of their visit, and proof of vaccination is encouraged but no longer required and will not be checked. Students will also have to provide a signed photo permission slip for Goethe. For students who wish to just visit the market, these requirements do not apply.
**Please fill out the following sign-up** form: https://forms.gle/MHfb5D2q8jtjSaTG7
The form will be open until Wednesday, November 30th at 12pm.
