Stacy Garrop’s oratorio Terra Nostra focuses on the relationship between our planet and humankind. Cast in three sections—Creation of the World, The Rise of Humanity, and Searching for Balance—the work explores various creation myths from different cultures and examines how we can raise awareness of our planet’s plight in order to find a balance for living within the Earth’s available resources. First performed at Northwestern in 2020, Terra Nostra is being reprised in preparation for its world-premiere recording on Cedille Records.
