The 5th Annual Center for Native American and Indigenous Research (CNAIR) Research Symposium will highlight 2022-2023 CNAIR faculty and graduate fellows. There will be a faculty fellow panel as well as a graduate fellow panel, where presenters will share their research projects that were supported by the CNAIR fellowship, which focuses on research centered on Indigenous methodologies or that engages Native and Indigenous communities and organizations. CNAIR is excited to celebrate the interdisciplinary work from our faculty and graduate fellows.
Our keynote speaker will be Professor Audra Simpson, Dept of Anthropology, Columbia University. Prof Simpson is a political anthropologist whose work is focused on contextualizing the force and consequences of givernance through time, space and bodies. (Thursday at 11am)
There will also be a panel dedicated to Indigenous Languages, with some special guest panelists, including Šišókaduta hé miyé do (Joe Bendickson) and Corinne Kasper, inspired by last year's kickoff of the UN's International Decade of Indigenous Languages. (Friday at 9:30am) And there will be other highlights of cosponsored projects in the works.
Please invite your colleagues, friends, family, and community to register and attend CNAIR's main event of the year in-person!
Breakfast and Lunch will be provided!
Stay tuned for further details!
