Title: Single Cell Spatial Transcriptomics to Accelerate Systems Immunology
Speaker: Danny Wells, Ph.D., CTO and Co-founder, Santa Ana Bio
Abstract: Single cell transcriptomics has revolutionized immunology and driven the emergence of systems-level approaches in immunology. Recently, new technological advances have enabled the capture of multiple layers of -omic information within a single cell, and such multiomic profiling technologies are enabling the integration of previously segregated areas of immunology. Here, we will discuss one recent advance in single cell multi-omic profiling, the ability in lymphocytes to measure both phenotypic information (RNA, Protein) and clonal identity and associated antigen specificity via paired TCR or BCR profiling. We will demonstrate how by linking clonal identity with cell phenotype, we can begin to uncover rules of lymphocyte migration and activation, particularly in the context of cancer and immuno-modulatory cancer therapies.
